Akin to Creation: The Sun

My home exists somewhere beneath the same light that has burned since the dawn of all. The same light that exhibits a source of both life and death. The same light that was seen and felt by the names we now know only by myth and legend. This is the same light that has been placed so perfectly in the universe that its function is bound by no more than its distance from life itself. Of all these traits and characteristics, though, can we not just say but truly see and feel that the sun, our sun, is more relative to our own being than it is exclusive to itself? When we pause and consider what such a creation would think of us if it was capable of thought, would it not be amazed at how many similar sources of endless energy like itself exist on just this planet alone? Whether we are awakened by its soft morning beams or stimulated by its piercing summer heat, the sun has served as a shining example of glorious, endless spirit for every generation. It's been used countless times as a symbol of power and life force, and has been rightfully revered throughout all time as an manifestation of hope, inspiration, and gleaming optimism. These feelings are by no means subjective interpretations. As intelligent creation designed to learn from our fellow sources of life, the brilliance we gather from considering a creation like the sun is truly meant to inspire such ideas! What, though, are these paramount qualities, and how do we as individuals embody them?

As for the sun, it's not just a large, redundant ball of light and gasses that was randomly thrown into the vacuum of space with no actual consequence or purpose. No, this creation was carefully placed in relative distance to other luminaries and forms of life so that it would not only a provide stability for its surroundings but be within reasonable distance to actually enable life to thrive despite being so many thousands of miles away. Assess this observation, and see how we are not so different from such an arrangement; as individuals we are placed not for the purpose of remaining alienated from each other nor are we in physical danger the closer we come into contact. On the contrary, we are at our best, our most productive, our most joyful when we come to understand each other's company! Like our sun we maintain appropriate distance between each other to reap only benefit from where we live and breathe, and know that should we feel our occasional isolation to be a bit heavier than we'd like at times, we have access to endless sources of encouragement and inspiration waiting for just beyond our doors. Granted, we all require time in isolation to both hone and value our own company, though our thoughts and works are prove only more grand once they are released from our palms and shared with the world. The fruits that the sun produces are never kept selfishly for juts its own benefit, so why should ours ever be withheld?

As for the sun, its heat is endless and unforgiving, and its light dims for no one. Not one moment has passed in its existence where its energy fleeted, reversed or needed to be held back due to concern for whatever may happen from its true nature. There has been nothing or no one that is able to extinguish such a force, so tell me how we are any different? Do we ever have any actual valid reason to hold back what we are capable of when it comes to embracing and expressing what we can do in just one short lifetime? We do not; we have unlimited creative trajectory every day that we wake up, and that belongs to us and no one else. Unlike so many things beyond our control in this world, the one thing that is completely within our power is our light, both tangible and intangible. This is beyond privilege, but divine in origin! Just like the sun has all it could ever need to function and more, we were given that same power and freedom. This gift of endless creative spirit and vision is so bright, and we don't have to limit it despite what anyone tells us or whatever events transpire. You wish to change? You already have everything you need to do so. You wish to make something beautiful? Proceed without any fear of whatever opinion or result may form from your works. The sun will burn regardless of what occurs, so likewise let us always be both firm and aware that our power of choice and creation is no different, completely without limit or external concern.

As for the sun, its visibility and heat are meager in the early hours, but as the day advances so do its qualities. Our perception of it begins dim, but as we continue throughout our day, we witness and feel its warmth, light and strength garner. Consider this fellow creation and realize that as time progresses, the sun and our own lives hardly differ in this regard. We may wake up early but tired, we may set a goal with unclear direction, we may begin an exciting but challenging hobby, or we may decide to travel or move somewhere we've never been before; all scenarios where only a spark exists in our initial steps of a new endeavor. However, as we advance in both knowledge and experience in whatever it is we're pursuing, what was once soft, mellow light grows gradually in intensity and color until what we were is now burning with ferocity and ardor. Our sun has fully risen, and our blood is stirred with what it has been capable of this entire time. Just as our sun does not expect full might upon the early hours or complete visibility while the moon is still present, we need not feel any sort of intimidation or fear of what lies beyond our horizons. After all, we know that whatever we reap we will then sow, and that through time and action all that is deserved will eventually be made manifest.

Finally, as for the sun, it needs to rise as much as it needs to set. In such regard, just as we need to be made aware of the few shared qualities above and embody them to the best of our degree, we need also be aware that the need to both rest and let go of uncontrollable circumstances are just as integral. As a sunset may captivate our hearts and attentions, or a brutal summer heat may tire and beat us down, we know them to only be for a few brief moments, never fixed nor gone forever. We will endure and we will enjoy, and that will be enough. As there are more similarities between our being and fellow creation of the sun than I'm able to elucidate in one read, one crucial and observable truth among them is that, like this sun, we only have a handful of moments to cherish in our gleaming heat and ability. There are so few, so be aware that if there is only one aphorism that can summarize our strength and freedom, it is that if you wish to shine like the sun, then you must first burn like it.
